Breeding the Mutant Gene

Gene therapy has taken a new turn as “hybrid” gene “mutations” are purposefully being sought out in science labs across the world.

The difference between man and beast may no longer matter:

British scientists will be allowed to research devastating diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s using human-animal embryos, after the House of Commons rejected a ban yesterday.

An amendment to the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill that would have outlawed the creation of “human admixed embryos” for medical research was defeated in a free vote by a majority of 160, preserving what Gordon Brown regarded as a central element of the legislation.

Who will police the creation of DogKind Arising?

Some families already breed litters of children — how soon will they make the scientific change to canine gene pools for added loyalty or want to combine feral feline survival techniques with stronger gibbon muscle striations?

Do we need to license the breeding of our future human race?

Or is any life form fair game now and it doesn’t matter how or what that being looks like, acts like, or believes?

Thats gross… dog boys. wouldn’t last long they would be killed so fast.

  2. David W. Boles says:

Why do you think the mutant breeds would be killed, arin?

  3. arin says:

people be scared and would kill them they are too much different from us almost like aliens maybe

  4. David W. Boles says:

    arin –
That’s a good point. The “new breed” might need special protections because they would be such a new life form.

  5. Kathakali Chatterjee says:

    Hi David,
I was shocked by the images and then curious – change resistance I guess.

  6. David W. Boles says:

These gene mutations were the beginning of life, Katha, and I guess we all need to realize change is going to happen and it doesn’t matter if we like it or not. This is the natural process of evolutionary improvement and there will be terrible mistakes and meanderings along the way.

  7. Kathakali Chatterjee says:

But this is man made, not natural!

  8. David W. Boles says:

    Katha –
Are Test Tube babies natural or man made?
Is surviving Black Measles natural or doctor-induced?

  9. Kathakali Chatterjee says:

    Ok -
So you are saying we need them for survival – I can take that…

  10. David W. Boles says:

I think “man made” and “natural” have become interchangeable when it comes to genetics. The moment we touched an understanding of the DNA chain, the box was opened and the Pandora Effect was out and loosed upon us all.
