That's a good point. The "new breed" might need special protections because they would be such a new life form.

I was shocked by the images and then curious - change resistance I guess.
These gene mutations were the beginning of life, Katha, and I guess we all need to realize change is going to happen and it doesn't matter if we like it or not. This is the natural process of evolutionary improvement and there will be terrible mistakes and meanderings along the way.
But this is man made, not natural!

I think "man made" and "natural" have become interchangeable when it comes to genetics. The moment we touched an understanding of the DNA chain, the box was opened and the Pandora Effect was out and loosed upon us all.
